FE7 has Dorcas and Bartre, who suck, Hector who promotes late, Dart who kills the funds rank, and after that your only good axe users are Geitz and Harken, who both come late.

FE8 has Ross and Garcia, who both fail massively in speed. They're the only unpromoted axe users in the whole game, sadly enough.
